How To Measure Suspension Components For Replacement  

Question:

I have a trailer, 2 axle. possible home made. looking for equalizers, schackle strapes and nuts and bolts and spring bushing. heres what I got. spring width 1-3/4, 2-3/8 axle dia. center to center of axles 34-1/2 and hanger 1-3/4 to center of the bolt. thank you

Hey David,

In order to find the correct replacement components for your suspension you'll need to lift one side of the trailer by the frame and let the axles hang. You can remove the wheel and then measure the equalizer, shackle straps, and leaf springs based on the diagrams attached below. With a 2-3/8 diameter axle you likely have a 3,500lb axle so that narrows down the search a bit. Let me know what you find and I'd be happy to pick out the correct components.
