Troubleshooting Excel Water Heater that Stopped Working After Storage  

Question:

I cannot get my excel tankless water to work after winter storage l installed it last summer worked fine ,but will not start ,it has less than an hour of use I replaced ythe battries ,I have removed it and turned it upside down ,and reinstalled,no luck.what is the battery position there are no marks on the battery holder for plus or minus,any suggestions as to what the problem is .

Hey Jim, it does sound like the batteries of your Excel tankless water heater part # EX93FR are dead which we do have replacements with the part # DU78QR. It's hard to specify the exact battery position but they do face opposite directions so try both orientations of that and you'll know if the battery is at fault.

Here are some other things that Excel has had us check in the past when customers have had issues.

If there is a water pump, it cannot fluctuate or the unit will sense that there is not enough water pressure. Which would result in the unit shutting off as a safety measure.

If there is debris blocking the magnet inside the water inlet, the unit could shut off.
