What Difference Will Using a 2" Tall Equalizer Create Versus a 1-1/2" Tall Equalizer?
Question:
My current equalizers measure 1 1/2inch from top hole to bottom holes and 5 1/2inch from center of side holes. The ez flex kit I ordered measures 2inch from top hole to bottoms holes and 5 3/4inch from center of side holes. What if anything will be different as far as height. Im thinking it will give me a smidget more tire/fender clearance. Is this correct? My boat trailer is a 2018 Marine master tandem axle boat trailer.

Expert Reply:
The additional 1/2" in the height of the Dexter E-Z Flex Suspension Kit # K71-652-00 will result in roughly 1/4" of additional height/fender clearance on your boat trailer. As far as the 1/4" difference in width the shackle straps take up for the slight difference in width without any real impact on the ride height.
