Parts Needed to Add Brakes to Trailer with 3,500 lb Axles  

Question:

Hello, I have a small enclosed trailer with a Dexter axle P-12 model SLR s/n. D426790 or D. Im thinkimg this has a 3,500 lbs capacity. I want to add electric brakes but need to know the correct parts needed. Thanks, Larry

Hey Larry, my recommendation is the Electric Trailer Brake Kit - Self-Adjusting - 10" - Left and Right Hand Assemblies - 3,500 lbs # AKEBRK-35-SA for a set of brake assemblies for your axle. These assemblies will work well for your axles and are self adjusting. If you don't already have the hub/drum assemblies, then I recommend using the Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly - 3.5K E-Z Lube Axles - 10" Diameter - 5 on 4-1/2 - Pre-Greased # AKHD-545-35-EZ-K. Since the hubs are pre-greased they are ready to install without requiring greasing anything.
