How to Attach Fairing Clamps on Yakima OffGrid Roof Cargo Basket
Question:
Yakima OffGrid Cargo Basket - I cannot get the clips closed on the windshield fairing - Any tricks? I was thinking of using zip ties - And the fairing deflects in the center when driving on the highway - any suggestions? Thank you

The clamps on the Yakima OffGrid Roof Cargo Basket # Y07138 fairing should simply squeeze together once you flex them around the bar. I would make sure they're correctly aligned. Zip ties might work but I would check with Yakima before I attempted an alternate fix to secure the fairing. If you're able to squeeze them together and they are coming undone after then you might try something like Loctite to keep them together permanently.

Here's an update on the fairing shield clips - I realized I had screwed them on tight and then tried to close the clips - it doesn't work because the clips wouldn't close - so by loosening the screws and then closing the clips - still difficult to close - I was able to secure them and then tighten the screws. I would recommend closing the clips before inserting the screws if doing it for the first time. It works fine now and no deflection so far.
