Can a High-Low Adapter Be Used On an RV

Question:

We have a class C Winnebago Navion 25 ft RV and two 50 e bikes. We got the Door County electric lift, which we found out from Saris has been in the past year re tested and approved for RVs of all classes. Problem is its still a bit high in its lowest position for loading up the bikes. Is there a hitch attachment you can recommend to lower it so its even easier for us? Will need to take some measurements to see how low we need it to go to be more comfortable for loading and not have to worry about it bottoming out on bumps. Will doing this render a bike rack not ok for RV use in general or possibly void any warranties? On a side note: your website should updated regarding this rack so it shows its approved for RV. I spoke with Saris because this was an issue everywhere we looked on other websites of bike stores. One place refused to sell it to us because their information said it isnt approved. Which is why we went right to the source Saris to find out for sure. It was here at etrailer that a live chat person recommended it and said it was approved due to recent retesting, but the website wasnt updated yet. It was very frustrating to get so much conflicting information regarding this and was glad for the information you sent us and confirmation from Saris.

Hey Deb, yeah it sounds like you just need an adapter that goes into your hitch and lowers your receiver which would make loading and unloading your bikes much easier.

I'm not aware of any warranties being voided by using an adapter, as long as the adapter is RV rated and the rack is RV rated then you're good to go. You'd just need to let me know how what kind of drop you're needing and I'd be happy to take a look at what we have.
