Measuring Replacement Pivot Bolt for Swing-Away Tongue Hinge to Buy at Hardware Store
Question:
Hi, I'm looking for a pivot bolt for my swing away tongue on a Trailstar trailer, Tracker boats. Not sure if I need to replace the whole bolt or just the bushing. Year 2008 Thanks!

Our manufacturers don't offer the pivot bolts separately at this time, but you could easily pick one up at a local hardware store or a competing online retailer if they offer one. You just need a grade 8 bolt and lock nut that is long enough to go through the pivot hinge. The general rule is to use a bolt that is as long as the height of the frame plus 1.5 inch.
Our fold-away hinges come with bolts ranging from 4.5 inches long to 6.5 inches long depending on the height of the frame.
Our hinges also use 5/8-inch diameter bolts and are the most common hinges out there by a large margin, but I'd recommend measuring the size of the hole if you don't have the old bolt just to make sure you don't get the wrong size, I hate making extra trips to the hardware store.
