Troubleshooting Trailer Wiring Where Turn Signal Isn't Working and Ground is Hot

Question:

So I got everything wired correctly, got everything cleaned up, got everything put away, hooked it up to the vehicle and Ive got left hand side blinking lights, but I dont have any turn signals on the right hand side. Running and brake lights are good. The ground wire is extremely hot, I did have to splice it cuz I needed it a little longer, could it be the gauge wire that I used?

The ground wire being really hot is not a great sign. That indicates that something is most likely shorting out to that ground and that would also explain why the one circuit isn't working properly. Trace the hot ground wire and see if you can find where a circuit may be shorting out to it and fix as needed.
