What Does 46 Inch Crossbar Spread Mean For Yakima DeepSpace 10 Cargo Box

Question:

I see where it has up to 46 inch spread to fit crossbars but I have a few questions about that. 1 When you say 46 inches is that the space between the rails, what I think when I see the term spacing, or does that mean from center to center of each rail? I currently have Yakima HD bars which are quite wide. 2 Can the spacing for the clamps for each end be done independently? Like if I want it as close as possible to one end with as little overhand as possible, the cab end, and more hang over from the back end over the tailgate. 3 What is the measurement from the clamps widest set point to the end of the box? The clearance needed from bar to cab for this box.

Hello A; the crossbar spread of 46 inches is center to center of the crossbars for the Yakima DeepSpace 10 Rooftop Cargo Box # Y65RR.

Regarding the spacing for the clamps, it can indeed be done independently with more overhang one one side if you like. As for the clearance needed from the bar to the cab, I reached out to Yakima who told me the DeepSpace 10 # Y65RR needs 3 inches of clearance from the bar to the cab.
