Adding Brake Controller to 2022 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited w/o Tow Package That is Wired For Flat Towin

Question:

I would like a verify the correct parts for adding trailer wiring to a 2022 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited without factory towing package. The objective is to be able to tow a trailer with a 7-pin connector utility trailer with 5k axle and brakes. Note that this vehicle is also equipped for being flat-towed behind a motorhome using the Roadmaster 4-Diode kit RM-152-1676-7. I already have a Tekonsha T3 Brake Controller. I was planning on purchasing a Curt T-Connector vehicle wiring harness with 4-pole flat trailer connector 56407 and the ETBC7 Universal installation kit for trailer brake controller. Do you believe that this combination will work and still allow for flat towing setup?

Hi there Patrick; thanks for writing in and you can absolutely get your 2022 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited without the tow package set up with the Prodigy P3 Brake Controller # 90195 even though it is already wired for flat towing. The flat tow wiring gets spliced in before the connector and the 4-way will plug into the connector which is why they can be used together. You do have the correct parts for your '22 Wrangler Unlimited as well:

- Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 56407

- Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7
