How To Find a Spare Wheel and Tire For a RV With 14" Diameter Wheel

Question:

I would like to purchase a spare tire mounted on a rim for my RV. I am having trouble finding the correct bolt configuration to match my hubs. The manufacturer says the rim size is 14x5 but offers no info on the bolt pattern. Ive measured from the center of one lug to the outside of the next lug and I get 3 Which I understand means I need a 5 hole 5 bolt circle? But I cannot find 14 rims with that pattern. Please advise. Thank you, Steve

So the only bolt pattern we have for a 14" diameter wheel is the 5 on 4-1/2". There are a couple ways I can help you verify the bolt pattern you have for your wheels. As based on your measurement since you measured from the center of one lug to the outside of the nearest you may have either a 5 on 4-1/2" or 5 on 4-3/4". Generally the bolt pattern and size is stamped on the inside of the wheel but you will most likely have to remove the wheel to see the stamped size and bolt pattern in the wheel. An easier option would be to check the axles for a tag on the center of the axle tube facing the rear of the axle. With the tag information I can reach out to the axle manufacturer to verify what hub they put on the axle and verify the bolt pattern. The axle manufacturers are better at keeping records for their components than the RV manufacturers.
