Could Damaged Blue Ox Tow Bar be Re-Used

Question:

Hello. I had my Jeep connected to our coach and it was hit sideways by a truck that came out of park. I am wondering what the risk of damage to the Blue Ox tow bar would be. It was fully extended and locked in place when the tow vehicle was hit. Also could there be any risk to the tow plates on the Jeep Thanks Bob

Hey Bob; sorry to hear about what happened, that really stinks. And there is serious risk of damage to your Blue Ox tow bar with impact since it was fully extended and locked in place. I know it's lousy to have to replace something due to an accident that wasn't your fault, but I would very strongly recommend it. So for example a new Blue Ox Avail # BX7420 or Alpha 2 # BX7380.

I have added a link below to our entire selection of base plates for you so you can purchase the one you have if it wasn't the above. As for the base plates, it's also possible there was damage, but it really depends on how the base plate is attached. If it's a full frame install I suppose there's less chance the actual base plate is damaged but it's possible just the detachable arms/tab assemblies were damaged as well. Those are replaceable but I'm not sure what base plates you have so I'll link the replacement assemblies for you below as well.
