Does Ground Wire of Brake Controller Install Harness # 3041-P Need to be Connected
Question:
I’m installing controller I bought from you guys and I had a question, the wiring harness I have for a 2022 forerunner is the Tekonsha 3041-P for 4Runner 2014 and newer. This cord has a separate grounding wire on it, the cord I had prior to that for a different brake controller. Did not have a grounding cable. Why does the 3041 – P have a separate ground? Does it have to be hooked up?

Hey Chris, so this is a great question. What Tekonsha found was that the ground circuit that the part # 3041-P plugs into just wasn't quite adequate so they added an additional ground strap. You do need to connect it.
