Recommended Rear Suspension Enhancement For A 2017 Nissan Frontier 4WD

Question:

Hi, I have a 2017 4WD Nissan Frontier. Find that the rear suspension in somewhat soft, sags under a moderate load. I will be towing a pontoon boat, approx 3000 lbs and wonder what recommend for a more controlled load. Thank you. Jim

Hello Jim. For you I Recommend the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs # SS47PV. These are 1,800 lb capacity urethane jounce springs which will replace the factory bumpstops. I like these for a few reasons.

The 1,800 lb capacity will be enough to help keep your ride level and provide sufficient support to the rear suspension when towing. You will see less sagging, which will in turn improve ride quality and handling.

The Sumo Springs feature a progressive spring rate. Meaning the more weight you put on the springs, the firmer they become. So, you get good results when towing without making the ride too stiff when you are not. The springs are softer when not under a load, so you will not really feel them during day-to-day driving.

Lastly, they are very easy to install. If you are familiar with such things, it should take you less than an hour. You will find the instruction manual linked below.
