Wiring And Brake Controller Needed For A 2006 Chevy Express Van 1500
Question:
Hello, I have a 2006 Chevrolet express 1500. I currently have a four way flat plug. Im looking to add a brake controller and 7 way round plug. Do you have a wiring kit? with everything needed? do I buy a brake controller separately? thank you

Hey RJ,
For the 4-pole wiring I recommend the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118392. This comes with plug-in connectors for a fast and easy installation. From there you'll want the # ETBC7 to get the 7-way. It will plug into the Tekonsha 4-pole connector and have a few more wires to run. I've attached videos for both of these harnesses to help walk you through the installation process. I do recommend picking up a no-drill bracket # 18136 to make mounting the 7-way on the trailer hitch easy.
For the brake controller I recommend the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller # RED52VR. This brake controller has a tiny footprint so that you can easily mount it into the dash and avoid having a "knee-knocker" brake controller in your way.
