Camera Kit Solution for 2023 Sunset Trailers Sunray 149 Sport
Question:
Hi, we just purchased a 2023 Sunset Trailers Sunray 149 Sport manufactured Aug 2022. It has a unbranded camera bracket installed, but Im unsure if it will work without some rewiring. Ive included some photos that show the mount, size measurements, and wiring. It looks like it is designed to installed a camera with screws on either side, and has a rubber in the curved back that you can push the wiring through. Although, the screw pattern looks identical, so I suspect I could remove the shark fin and install the one that comes with the camera. The other issue I see is that the pre-wiring uses a male DC power connector plug cylindrical, whereas what I see on your videos is a male mini TRS plug coming out of the camera, which is not only the wrong sex, but the wrong species. I also dont yet know how it is wired there were no instructions whatsoever. I suspect hope it is wired with running lights, and I can test that with a meter myself tomorrow. Also, it seems that the bottom right screw that holds the shark fin to the gasket/trailer is stripped. Noticed that when I tried to remove it today, that it turned easily right off, but never backed out. The other three were tight/secure. Finally, is there any advantage to the 7inch monitor vs 5inch other than size? Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hey Shane, your 2023 Sunset Trailers Sunray 149 was actually pre-wired for a Way Interglobal camera system like the part # 324-000002 but if you wanted to go with a Furrion part # FOS07TASF you certainly could as it's not that different.
You'd just need to remove the bracket on your trailer and cut off the wire connector so that you can mount the camera bracket and install the connector of the Furrion kit to it.
The only difference between the Furrion 5 inch and 7 inch camera kits is the size of the monitor.
