Why Ground ETBC7 to Battery

Question:

ETBC7 7 Prong Install Kit steps and diagram say to attach the White wire from Brake Controller to your Battery neg. terminal. Why wouldnt you just attach the wire directly to the car body structure instead of running a long wire to the Battery?

Grounding the white wire from the brake controller to the battery when installing the # ETBC7 ensures you get the best possible ground for the controller. It's really just the best way and safest path for electricity to run. I can only recommend following the specific instructions though ultimately it's up to you, of course.
