Can a 4.4K Axle Be Swapped Out With a 6K Axle

Question:

I am looking to replace an axle on a 5th wheel. It currently has a 4400# axle #635096 with 85 hf 68.5 sc. I would like to install a 6k replacement. Do you have anything analogous to this?

I don't see any issue with upping your 4.4K axle to a 6K axle, Brandon. The only issue I'm running in to is the measurements on your current axle.

It looks like we don't carry any axles of any size that match those measurements. The closest I was able to find is the Dexter Trailer Axle Beam with E-Z Lube Spindles # 8327826 which has a 86 1/2" hub face measurement and a 71 1/2 spring seat measurement.

I wasn't able to find anything anywhere that matched those measurements besides the axle you currently have, so it may be worth looking into getting one custom made.
