What Is The Actual Clearance And Inside Dimensions Of The Yakima GearWarrior Cargo Carrier For EXO
Question:
GearWarrior Basket Clearance and Dimensions - I want to put the GearWarrior Basket on the bottom and a GearLocker on the top of my EXO system. I have read that the distance from the BOTTOM of the GearWarrior to the BOTTOM of the TopShelf arms is 18 inches. But is that actually the clearance? What I am trying to determine is exactly how tall something can be if it sits on the GearWarrior in the lower position with the TopShelf installed. Also what are the interior dimensions of the GearWarrior basket? Thanks!

Hello Martin, so I went ahead and double checked with Yakima, and the 18" measurement you saw is the actual clearance. This is measured from the top GearWarrior platform, as in the surface your gear would sit on, to the bottom of the TopShelf arms. So, a cooler for example, would need to be less than 18" tall to fit on the GearWarrior Cargo Carrier # Y37VR. Also, I was able to track down the interior dimension of the GearWarrior Cargo Carrier, which are 21" wide and 54.39" long. I made a diagram for your reference.
