Troubleshooting Integrated Brake Controller Not Working with HBA-CAM

can the HBA-CAM -GO BAD and what volts should the blue wire have when activated

Hey Charles, so the Hydrastar adapter part # HBA-CAM essentially is just brake magnets in a housing that once wired into your setup puts a small amount of resistance on the circuit to simulate the load of brake magnets so your brake controller thinks a trailer is connected. It would be pretty unlikely it goes bad over time but I suspect the problem is not the adapter.

What we have found is that integrated brake controllers don't always work consistently with EOH setups even when an adapter like this is used properly. It's really hit or miss too as some vehicles never have a problem, others have intermittent problems, and then others it never works. Only solution that is going to always work is an aftermarket brake controller that has a hydraulic mode like the P2 part # 90885.
