Will the Tension in the Roadmaster 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Weaken Over Time?

Question:

I have a new RoadMaster 7-wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil connector between my RV and tow car. I understand it expands to 8 feet, but right now there is a lot of tension in the coiled connector and I am afraid that it is really pulling on the 7- and 6-pin connections. I make sure both the lips on the connection covers are lockedinch in on the connector. Will the coil connector loosen with time or is there a short extension that can be added to relieve some of the tension pulling on the pin connections? Can I stretch out the coil connector to loosen it a bit? Thanks

The tension on the Roadmaster 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Kit item # RM-146-7 will weaken the more you use it. It's the longest one available it just needs to be broken in some. You can speed up the process by manually stretching it out.
