Trunk Mount Bike Rack for a 2014 Jeep Cherokee Latitude 4x4
Question:
Hi, I have a 2014 Jeep Cherokee Latitude 4X4. I dont have the tow package and Im saving my roof for my kayaks. I was hoping this rear door rack would work for transporting my 2 bikes. My concern is the spoiler that extends from the rear of the roof. It is the hinge at which the door lifts, so if the straps can safely make it over its probably fine - but since I can ask... what are your thoughts?

If the spoiler happens to be metal and integrated into the rear hatch on your 2014 Jeep Cherokee Latitude then it is permissible to use a trunk mount bike rack. If not then it is not recommended because damage to the vehicle could occur. Either way the Thule bike racks are not a confirmed fit for the 2014 Cherokee but I do have a great solution for you.
You can use the Hollywood Racks Over-the-Top rack # HRF2. This rack has an additional arm piece that moves the straps up and over the spoiler so no weight is put on it. I have included a link to a video review of this rack for you.
If you will be carrying any bikes that do not have a top frame bar that goes straight across (like a typical mens bike would) then I recommend using bike adapter bar # 64005. This will allow you to carry those bikes more level and will provide better ground clearance. I have to use these adapters and without them my wifes bike would be at a severe angle and I would not be able to load my sons bike at all. I have linked a video showing how the adapter works.
