Recommended Durabilt Hammerlock Coupling Link For An Angles Safety Chain Loop.
Question:
I have a 2013 f150 super crew trailer hitch with angled oval safety chain openings that are a pain to connect to. I have a 7,000 lb travel trailer. What size Hammer Lock coupling link would be best and would fit the hitch oval described above ? Im getting too old to be on my knees for that hitch design. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Hello Stephen, so the Durabilt Hammerlock Coupling Link # DU84GR is made for a 5/8" chain link and is the largest size we offer. I do not have a way to know the exact dimensions of the oval safety chain loops on your hitch, so I do suggest measuring to verify this, but I imagine the # DU84GR would undoubtedly fit. If you need a different size, they are available in the following sizes:
5/16" Chain # DU66MR
3/8" Chain # DU46MR
1/2" Chain # DU96MR
