Troubleshooting Curt Adapter 4 Pole to 7 Pole Right Turn Test LED Illuminated When Vehicle Off

Question:

Hi with the car powered off the RT is illuminated on the indicator LEDs. Installed over 3 years, see this light on last night. Thank you

My first thought is that it could be corrosion on the # C57674 which is allowing power to transfer from the 12V over to the right turn. However, your 12V isn't lit up so that is probably not the issue. It would still be a good idea to double check just to be sure. The next thing I would check would be your ground connection. This isn't uncommon for a bad ground. Make sure it is secure on a clean, bare metal surface.

If that isn't the problem then it must be with the wiring itself. Go ahead and test the wire running into the 7-way with a circuit tester like # PTW2993. I expect you will have power here but if you don't it must be something in the connector itself. If you installed an aftermarket 4-way you could also test before and after the converter. If you have power coming out but not going in then you found your problem.
