Recommended WDS for a 2015 Tam Lodge Extreme 2
Question:
Hello, I have a 2015 Team Lodge Extreme 2. It has a -down frame and due to the design and size of the trailer it sways really badly. To the point that my Tahoe can only pull it at 44mph before it tries pushing you off the road. The tongue is about 3ft of straight tube before it gets to the v-nose. Are you aware of any kind of weight distribution or sway control for a tongue like this? I stopped at our local camper store, and he said this is a common problem, but he had no solutions. Thanks for any help you can provide. Derek

Hey Derek, I do believe we have something that you can use to hopefully help with your sway issue. Since you have a straight ple tongue trailer, you're going to need the Pole-Tongue Adapter for Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Systems # EQ95-01-5950 which will then give you the ability to use a standard WDS.
As far as a WDS goes, I'd recommend checking out the Reese Pro Round Bar Weight Distribution w Sway Control # RE44FR which has a max weight capacity of 11,500, and a tongue weight range of 600 to 1,150 lbs putting your trailer right around the middle if we assume your tongue weight is 15% of your GVWR.
Ideally you'd want to fully load your trailer as if you were heading out on your trip and have it weighed. The tongue weight that you get from this would be what you'd want to use when picking out a WDS.
