Will Trailer Tongue Length be Longer After Installing Fulton Fold-Away Coupler Hinge Kit

Question:

It looks like this would add some length to the tongue. If so, would it make sense to make 2 cuts if one wanted to keep the current tongue length? How much would that extra length be?

If you made just one cut on the trailer tongue, it would not lengthen it by that much because you will cut the hinge kit # FHDPB330301 all the way on the two ends of the tongue until they stop and the metal is about a 1/2 thick so you are looking at about a 1/2 inch of additional length.
