There are three sizes of trailer balls, a 1-7/8 inch, a 2 inch and a 2-5/16 inch. In the past, I have heard some refer to the 2-5/16 ball as a 2-5/8, but there is no such animal as a 2-5/8 inch trailer ball. At one time, a truck/trailer rental company had a proprietary 2-1/8 inch sized ball, which is now obsolete.

I have linked an FAQ on trailer hitch balls.

I'm looking for a three ball, adjustable height receiver with a 2-5/8 shaft. Are there any made in the USA and where can i find such an animal?

We have quite a few 3-ball adjustable ball mounts available (I've linked them all below) but I'm not sure what you mean by a 2-5/8" shaft. Can you tell me what size your hitch receiver is? The B&W models are fantastic options and all are made in the USA.

@ChrisR Well there is such a thing as a 2-5/8 ball hitch as i just broke the ball on my emerson 6.5 yard scraper. It split in half as well as at the base. Not your typical ball hitch but it is 2-5/8

@To we needed a 2 5/8 BALL ALSO AND COULD NOT FIND, EVEN ASKED OLD TIMERS THAT HAUL TRAILERS FOR A LIVING. But there are 2 5/8. I'm wondering if they made then for a short time. It is a 1981 trailer
