Does Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo Flat Tow Brake System Use Vehicle Brake Booster Vacuum to Operate

Why does the operating unit of the Demco Stay IN Play Duo Proportional braking system part # SM99251 have to be connected to the cars brake booster vacuum line when the car is not running to provide vacuum?

The Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo Flat Tow Brake System # SM99251 actually activates the vacuum in your vehicle so the vehicle brakes work more naturally - it doesn't rely on the vehicle's vacuum system to operate.
If your vehicle happens to not utilize vacuum braking then there are provisions for this on page 16 of the installation instructions.

Thanks, Jon. After I asked the question, it dawned on me that the car has POWER brakes and that of course it would need to supply vacuum to the car's brake booster to make easy for the system to apply the brakes evenly.
