Lowering the Deck of a Car Hauler By Going to Smaller Tire/Wheel for Lowered Car Loading

Question:

I have a dual axle aluminum car hauler w 205/75-14 tires load range c. The deck height is about 2inch too high for my super low race car multiple boards required to load.i tried letting some air out if the tires and it worked great. So, I would like to lower the whole trailer by going to your 185/80-13 tire/wheel package. The trailer weighs 850lbs, and is rated for a 4100lb payload. The total weight of trailer with the race car and race gear is only 2200lbs. Id keep the bigger tires of times when I want to haul a heavier car.

Going to a smaller wheel and tire would definitely put your trailer closer to the ground which could make your low race car easier to load. The current diameter of the tires you currently have is 26.3 inches whereas the size you are considering, 185/80-13 has a diameter of 24.4 inches.

Hopefully your trailer has hubs with a bolt pattern of 5 on 4-1/2 inches because that is the only bolt pattern wheel we carry that is compatible with the 185/80-13 size you are interested in. I attached an FAQ on determining bolt patterns for you to check out.

If wanted a white wheel with a 185-80-13 tire you would want part # AM3S331
Galvanized wheel part # AM3S334

I attached an FAQ on trailer tires for you to check out also.
