You really should use a weight distribution hitch like the Equal-i-zer # EQ37060ET when towing a travel trailer. You should touch base with the person or company you are renting the trailer from as they will typically have these already setup for the trailer and is often included with the rental. If they are not offering it with the rental you should check with other rental companies near you as they are the best especially for new campers. The weight distribution hitch helps to more evenly distribute the tongue weight across your 2023 GMC Acadia so you will not experience the light steering feel from the front end being raised or the diminished braking feel.
You will most likely need your own Brake Controller # C51180 as they are often times vehicle specific. This is another detail you will want to discuss with the trailer renter to verify if you will need this or if they provide one like the one I listed. It is an inline brake controller which connects with the trailer connector and can be controlled from most smart phones using their app.
