Will a Straight-Through MagnaFlow Muffler be Very Loud on a 2013 GMC Sierra with 6.2 Liter Motor
Question:
Im looking to put this muffler on my 2013 sierra with 6.2L. Just wondering if it would b too loud or cause a lot of drone at highway speeds. Thank you!

A straight pipe or straight through muffler such as # MF14161 is going to be loud because there are no baffles inside to reduce the noise. The exhaust can flow straight through. If you have ever had the exhaust off of a vehicle forward of the muffler or catalytic converter, then it will be about as loud but not quite. If you are not looking for loud then this is not the muffler for you.
You will want a more traditional muffler with baffles such as # MF12909. This will give the deep tone MagnaFlow is known for without being obnoxious. I had some MagnaFlow cat-back exhaust on one of my cars and it is a nice low growl. But I did find that it did produce a loud drone when at cruising speed.
To get the right size you will need to measure the length of your existing muffler, how it is designed (offset inlet/outlets, one in, two out and so on) and the inlet/outlet diameters.
