What Size Tire Does Yakima Easy Rider Trailer Use

Question:

Would you be able to recommend replacements for the tires that come with the Yakima easyrider trailer? The trailer is in a salt water environment and used to launch large kayak from beach. - will the trailer design allow me go up a size for more float on loose sand? - are bias or radial better if Ill be running them under inflated on purpose to get more contact area? I was looking at 13 with galvanized rims, would this work? I may need to fly with 2, how much do they weigh? Thanks so much, James

Hey James, so the Yakima Easy Rider trailer part # Y08129 comes with a 5.30-12 trailer tire size so for a replacement I would recommend going with the part # TTWSF53012C since it has the higher speed rating of 81 mph. This tire size is only available in bias ply which would work fine if under inflated to get around in sand to spread out the contact with the ground. We don't have any information on if this would work with a larger tire size though although I am sure there's a chance one would fit. Anything that's in the 13 inch wheel diameter is going to be at least 3 inches taller overall so it's hard to say if that's going to fit without fender interference.

The tire I mentioned weighs 10 lbs.
