MORryde Safe-T-Rail - How Tall Is The Portion That Attaches To The Wall Of The Coach?

Question:

How long is the portion that attaches to the wall of the coach? I have about 33 inch from the bottom of the door to my awning arm, and I would need to mount the handrail below the awning arm. My rough calculations from the dimensions given for the other 2 legs of the unit indicate the coach attachment leg should be about 33.5.

Hey Bob I got in touch with my contact am MORryde and they sent me a dimensional drawing of the MORryde Safe-T-Rail # MR54BR. The drawing indicates that the portion that attaches to the wall of the camper is 52.2" tall overall. This is including the secondary mount bracket, which ships loose with the assembly. The dimensional drawing you see on our web page (also pictured below) does not show the fully assembled rail, but the rail without the secondary mount bracket attached (see top right of instruction picture below). So, your calculation is probably accurate, but this is not actually the full height of the wall bracket.

All of that said, it sounds like the MORryde Safe-T rail is not going to work for your application. My suggestion is to go with something like the Stromberg Carlson Folding Handrail # AC-530. This is more of a universal 24" wide x 38" tall hand rail and will require only about 25"-26" of space on the wall of the coach.
