Recommended WDS for a 2018 Toyota Tundra

Question:

Hello: We have a 2018 Toyota Tundra Limited. Towing capacity is 8800 lb. We tow a 2015 Airstream Flying Cloud 25 which has a GWV of 7300 lb. We have Equalizer weight distribution bars attached when we tow. We have a long shamk ball mount, to enable using the truck tailgate . We load the camper up pretty heavy with foodstuffs and gear, but not to a crazy extent. Weve been back several times to the RV place for adjustments. The Tundra is still sagging a little in the rear and the front of the Airstream is a little low. We are thinking about starting from scratch. Please describe the components you think we would need to best attach our 2018 Toyota Tundra for towing our 2015 Airstream. Thank you so very much, Tom Palombo Wakefield, RI

Using a WDS is going to be what you need to fix the sagging issues, but since you've already got one the only thing I can think of is that your WDS might not rated high enough to tow your Airstream.

With your Airstream having a 7,300 lb GVWR we can assume that your trailer's tongue weight is anywhere from 730 - 1,095 lbs making something like the Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution w/ Sway Control # BXW1500 ideal. You'd realistically need to get your total tongue weight and choose a system with that figure right around the middle.
