What Type of Diodes Does Roadmaster Use

Question:

A previous question detailed that Roadmaster diodes have a minimal voltage , per Roadmaster response. Are the Roadmaster diodes silicon or germanium/Schottky type diodes Silicon has a 0.7V forward biased voltage , while germanium has a 0.2V forward biased voltage . Which one applies to the Roadmaster diodes? Wiring gauge and length will affect voltage on long runs from the towing vehicle to the towed vehicle. Modern wiring systems minimize wiring gauge for weight and cost reduction.

I contacted Roadmaster to see if they could help and here's what they told me in response to your question:

As far as I know, our HY-Power diodes are an epoxy sealed heavy duty casing built around a resistor. We also have a smart diode which is built the same but it does look different and is intended to do the same thing only with variable voltage inputs allowing you to run lights off of one circuit using less or more voltage. I am not sure about the silicone or other names you provided, but I hope this helps answer their question about that.
