How to Tap 7-Way Trailer Connector Into Reverse Light Circuit of 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe

I am installing the ETBC7 universal kit. Can you tell me where is the best place to tap into the reverse light on a 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe long wheel base. Thanks for your help.

Because the reverse lamps are located in the liftgate, you will need to find the wire harness that feeds the liftgate. The harness is typically run from behind the trim panels on the passenger or driver's side of the cargo area, up behind the trim pieces to the area above the liftgate.
Once you locate a wiring harness leading to the tailgate, use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 on each wire until you find the one that lights up the tester when the transmission is in reverse. When you locate the circuit, extend your purple wire from the adapter to tap into the reverse light circuit. Finding the harness in one side or the other of the cargo area would make running the wire easier.
