The Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch # 31604 is what we recommend for your 1998 Ram 2500. We have checked with Curt and confirmed that it will indeed fit the 1500, 2500 and 3500 models of the '98 Ram. The hitch itself has a 2" receiver and is rated for 500 lbs vertical load or 9,000 lb line pull. It will be a no-drill install, although you will have to trim (or remove) the front air dam. Install instructions are linked below.
