Can a 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLS 450 Tow a 6,100 lb Boat and Trailer
Question:
Hi there, I have a boat and trailer - combined weight approximately 6100 lbs. Im seriously considering a 2022 GLS 450. The vehicle already has the hitch installed from the factory. The boat/trailer manufacturer say the tongue weight is anywhere between 500-600 lbs. Do you foresee any issue with this vehicle towing 6100lbs? If not, do you have a certain ball hitch youd recommend?

According to my research your 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLS 450 has a trailer tow weight rating of 7,700 lb so your vehicle will be able to safely tow your boat and boat trailer.
You will need to use a weight distribution hitch though since your trailer weighs in at over half your vehicle weight. For this I recommend the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System w/ 4-Point Sway Control # EQ37100ET, and then if your trailer has a pole tongue you'll need the Adapter # EQ95-01-5950 to install it properly.
