Can You Drill From Under The Bed When Installing A B&W Custom Base Rail Kit

Question:

Can you not install the brackets on the frame and then drill small pilot holes from underneath through the bracket slots for bed rails using a right angle drill? That way you could have the exact location of holes. Would this work?

If you can get a drill in place to cut through the bed from underneath then yes, you could drill up through the holes in the B&W Custom Installation Kit w/ Base Rails # BWRVK2402 frame brackets. It's just typically a very cramped area and harder to get the drill in place so drilling from the top of the bed is easier. To help prevent the drill bit from walking on you I recommend picking up an automatic center punch. These have a handle that you push in to activate the punch instead of having to hit it with a hammer, making it perfect for tight spaces. I usually hit it a couple of times in each spot when trying to drill through something as thick as a truck bed.
