Why Can't The Advent Air RV Air Conditioner System Be Installed On An Enclosed Trailer
Question:
Any idea why this product says not approved for use in an enclosed trailer? Advent Air RV Air Conditioner System - Manual - 15,000 Btu - White Item # ACM150C

Enclosed trailer roofs are typically not designed to handle the weight of an AC system and will wag as you pull the trailer. Not everyone understood that you'd have to reinforce the trailer roof to prevent the unit from falling in or breaking off from the roof and it became enough of a problem that Advent Air stipulated in their warranty that they will no longer approve use on an enclosed trailer. That being said, if you purchased the Advent Air # ACM150C and wanted to install it on your enclosed trailer you still could, but you would void the warranty.
If you'd prefer to keep the warranty I recommend switching over to the Furrion Chill HE RV Air Conditioner System # FR92PR since Furrion will still honor the warranty if installed on an enclosed trailer. Whatever you do just make sure that you install some additional framing in the roof to handle the weight of the system.
