Can A Winch Be Used To Pull A Boat & Trailer In And Out Of A Garage With An Incline Driveway

Question:

Hi, I’m considering using a winch to pull my boat about 3000 lb into the garage. I have to unhitch the trailer to fit the tow arch under the garage door so I can’t back it in with my truck. The driveway has very minimal slope but just enough that I can’t push the boat in until the wheels get on the garage floor. Then I can maneuver by hand. My question is - Can I use the winch in reverse to let the boat out? Will it pay safely out line as the boat pulls it out? Thanks.

As long as the winch rope of the Superwinch LT3000 ATV Winch # SW1130220 has tension on it and the boat/trailer weighs less than its 3,000lb capacity you shouldn't have an issue pulling the boat in or out of the garage. You'll want to make sure that you properly mount the winch in the garage so that the weight of the boat/trailer doesn't yank the winch out while in use. You can use some wedge anchor bolts to secure it to the concrete floor.
