How Come Some Bike Racks Can be Used at Rear of 5th Wheel Trailer and Others Can't
Question:
Im researching bicycle racks for e bikes and I have noticed that many say NOT to use on the rear of a 5th wheel RV. My question is why the warning on some and others say they can be used on a 5th wheel RV. Thank you for your time

The issue is that the ride quality at the rear of a RV/fifth wheel is MUCH rougher than at the rear of a vehicle. This is due to much nicer suspension being used on vehicles and also much shorter distances between the rear axle of the vehicle and the rear bumper. The longer this distance is the more pronounced and exaggerated the bumps are when you hit them similar to how the back seats in a bus are the roughest.
The Hollywood Racks RV rider part # HLY64FR that you referenced was reinforced for this rougher ride quality so it can be used in the hitch of a 5th wheel trailer.
