How To Install The Plug-And-Play Hydrastar Vented Marine Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator
Question:
I’ve got a 2020 Silverado 1500 with the factory brake controller. I like the idea of this kit being ‘plug and play’ but I’m a little confused on where the female end of the 7 PIN cord goes/does? Is it used to connect to the actuator/battery breakaway? Obviously the male end will run to my vehicle. The pictures aren’t clear how the female end of the 7 pin connector works or maybe I just missed it. Thanks!

The Hydrastar Vented Marine Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator for Disc Brakes # HS481-8067 is designed to be completely plug-and-play so the female end of the 7-way would need to connect to the 7-way cable that's already installed on the trailer and the male end will connect to the truck's 7-way socket.
Both the CAM and 7-way cable come with 4-pin connectors and will install in the following manner: Actuator - CAM - 7-way Cable. The breakaway battery has a 2-pin connector that will connect to the actuator and a round connector that plugs into the breakaway switch, which will have a second shorter cable with another round connector to attach it to the actuator.
The directions they include in the box are only for the hardwired versions so they kind of leave you to figure it all out. If you have anymore questions let me know and I'd be happy to help.
