Does OEM Brake Controller of 2015 GMC Sierra 3500 Have to Be Bypassed to Use P3

Question:

I installed tekonsha p3 in my 2015 gmc 3500 with the premade pigtail. I moved my 5th wheel and the integrated brake system worked but the p3 controller did not recognize the camper and didnt work. Do I have to disable the integrated system? I know the connection in the truck bed was good because the integrated system worked.

Yes, you do need to bypass the OEM brake controller of your 2015 GMC Sierra 3500 to allow your P3 part # 90195 to function. I have attached an article for you below. The process is basically just cutting the blue wire from the back of the controller and routing your own to the trailer connector.
