Recommended Tire Chains for a 2002 Acura TL
Question:
hi ,on my 2002 acura tl base model i am looking to buy chains but i want to make modifications to my ride height first and am waiting for an answer from acura about what is the highest safest height i could go with on top of the strut extensions.the car is too low to the ground and needs to clear the snow and not get hung up on it. second, my studded snow tires that i have on there are oversized which make them like plows which arent keeping me stable enough in deep snow on the highway going about 40-50 or more mph.ive heard and read that going narrower cuts through the slush and driven through deeper snow on the highway.not like virgin snow which is easier to drive through and keep traction and stability.i have no clue though what the narrowest safest tires i could put on those stock aluminum alloy wheels rims. i also know that i have to add weight over my wheels, the back is no problem because sand bags could go in the trunk but i dont know what to do about the front.i guess that some sand bags will have to go under my legs too.i am also looking for something thats not going to vibrate terribly if on the highway but yet be good for off road too.i sometimes go up in the mountains and some dirt trails could be some mud or soft dirt nothing extreme this is only a fwd luxury sport.i almost got stuck on a steep fine gravel road trying to get back up to the main road looking for kayaking spots along a river once, ill need them for that too.i should also carry a winch and extra chain just in case in addition to the chains. so im really confused on what size and type i should get that are versatile when the time comes when i need to get new snow tires and will be choosing narrower tires next time.for now i have to keep what i got on.so i believe ive covered all the bases, can you help me in making this tough decision please?.thank you.

Since you're looking for something more versatile than standard tire chains, the Titan Chain Snow Tire Chains # TC1840 is what I'd go for.
These tire chains will work with the stock 205/60-16 tires on your 2002 Acura TL, has a V-bar-style twist links are studded that'll bite into frozen roads, and has a ladder pattern which gives it great traction in snow, mud, ice, and boggy off-road areas.
