Does this system have a removeable top section that would be below the bed rail when removed?

The mounts for the TracRac Contractor Truck Bed Ladder Rack # TA14750 fasten to the top of the bed rail. You would have to remove the entire assembly rather than only removing the top portion of the rack.
You will want to consider the DeeZee Customizable Truck Bed Ladder Rack # DZ95053 as these with the upper tubes removed will sit below the to of your bed rails.
