Dexter Nev-R-Adjust Brakes And Hub Seal For A Dexter 5,200 lb Axle
Question:
Have an RV with Dexter 5,200 lb axles with manual adjust electric brakes. Can the manual adjust electric brakes be replaced with Dexter Nev-R-Adjust electric brakes and if so please provide the part #s. Also provide the part # for the hub seal. Thanks for your time.

Yes, the Dexter manual adjust brakes can indeed be replaced with Dexter Nev-R-Adjust brakes. The correct set of Dexter Nev-R-Adjust brakes for your 5,200 lb axle is part # 23-458-459. These are the standard 12" x 2' brakes with a 5 bolt backing plate.
As far as the hub seal, the one we typically see on the Dexter 5.2K axles is a # GS-2250DL. This is a 3.376" OD 2.250" ID double lip seal. Seal size is not always universal. Generally we like to get the part number off of the hub and cross reference that in order to know the correct seal. If you can either measure the current seal or provide the number from the hub we can make sure you get the correct seal.
