Best 5th Wheel Hitch and Set Up for a 2023 Ram 2500 w/out the Puck System
Question:
I have a 2023 ram 2500 diesel without the puck system. What is the best option for a fifth wheel hitch set up. I have pulled travel trailers never a fifth wheel so I have no knowledge. Is there one that utilizes the factory bed bolts that would require no drilling.

By far the best way to tow a 5th wheel trailer with your 2023 Ram 2500 is to install the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch item # BWGNRK1320. This mounts below your truck bed and requires you to drill one square hole for the receiver and then two chain hanger holes. There isn't a way to use those factory bed bolts.
The B&W item # BWGNRK1320 will provide you with a mounting platform to use either the B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch item # BWRVK3500-5W if you have an 8' bed or the Sliding item # BWRVK3400-5W if your Ram has the shorter 6-1/2' bed.
The best part about the B&W combo is that the hitches are completely removable and the Turnoverball system does not take up space in your bed when it is not in use. This means no 5th wheel rails to get in your way when your using your truck bed for hauling stuff around.
B&W makes the best hitches in the towing business right here in America. The Companion's 1" thick dual jaws will give you a 360-degree jaw to kingpin contact. This system minimizes the chucking, jarring and noise that can occur when towing a fifth wheel trailer. This not only provides a more secure connection but also a quieter more comfortable towing experience.
I have linked several installation videos below so you can see how to get these hitches set up.
To make towing with a 5th wheel easier, I also recommend adding the Curt 5th Wheel/Gooseneck Custom Wiring Harness item # C56070. This harness puts a 7-way connector in the bed of your truck and allows you to keep the one on your bumper. This makes hooking up to your 5th wheel trailer easier and more convenient.
