Ways To Remove Broken Off Ring For Bearing Buddy Stuck In Trailer Hub
Question:
Hello, I tried to remove a bearing buddy, by tapping it on all sides. I must have hit it too hard a few times as the middle section separated leaving the outer ring still in the hub. Do you have any suggestions on how to remove the outer ring so a new bearing buddy can be installed? Thank you

I have a couple options you can try for removing your damaged Bearing Buddy # BB2717. The first would be to use a pulling device with hooks that will fit under the broken off ring in your hub. This type of tool can typically be borrowed from most auto parts stores who offer a loan a tool program.
Another option would be to cut the ring out. A small hacksaw blade can be used to cut the ring which will release the tension on the hub.
