Kat's Heaters Custom Fit Engine Block Heater # KH11812 Not Fitting on a 2.4L Engine for 2014 Journey
Question:
Have tried 3 different places and got a block heater for a 2014 Dodge journey 2.4 engine. The cartridge type heater sticks out an inch or so and cannot be clamped and does not fit. All the way in the hole is clean. But talking to the experts they say to shim something in the side to hold it in place. And dont worry about it sticking out. Is this what you think? It goes in the hole fine and dandy. It is just too short of a hole.

First be sure the Kat's Heaters Custom Fit Engine Block Heater # KH11812 you received is the correct part as I have seen times where the wrong heater was shipped or possibly returned with and placed in the wrong box. The tag on the heater should corelate to the box for the heater. Next I do see there is a slot and groves on the heater which you will want to verify are positioned correctly inside the hole as this would cause the heater to not fully sit inside when positioned incorrectly.
If everything looks correct you can send me images of both the heater and hole on your engine for the heater and I can verify if anything visibly looks incorrect to me.
